AT 0942 PM HST.

The national weather service issued a tsunami watch. 7.5 magnitude earthquake reported OFF THE EAST COAST OF KAMCHATKA RUSSIA


Doing the best we can here with getting this news out as fast as possible. (keep in mind, we are a rental car agency)

This is currently a "watch" not a "warning" a warning is bad news bears folks.


From the data we see, "if" a tsunami hits (again, "if") the national weather service is expecting it "if" to hit at 2:43 AM, HST

EVALUATION

 BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA A TSUNAMI MAY HAVE BEEN GENERATED BY
 THIS EARTHQUAKE THAT COULD BE DESTRUCTIVE ON COASTAL AREAS EVEN
 FAR FROM THE EPICENTER. AN INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY TO DETERMINE
 IF THERE IS A TSUNAMI THREAT TO HAWAII.

 THE FIRST TSUNAMI WAVE IS
