Why you need a 4x4 for Mauna Kea

Aloha, just putting this out there again re: Mauna Kea safety-

I'm seeing posts about going up the Mauna with AWD (not 4x4 with 4-low) . People talking about "they let me go up with an AWD car". - This is dangerous. You need the 4-low transfer case to SLOW you down coming down the Mauna so you don't ride brakes.

I interviewed a ranger up on the Mauna about safety (and of course, 4-low)-and why you need a 4X4 for Mauna Kea

PLEASE BE SAFE AND DON'T TRY AND CHEAT SAFETY

Aloha,

-Joe
